ACC Preview

August 24, 2006
Originally
billed as an elite power conference, the new ACC enters the 2006 season
fighting for respect. Perennial national title contenders Florida State and Miami start as numbers 10 and
11 in the
initial Coaches Poll, and Virginia Tech (16) and Clemson (18) are the
only
other ACC members to crack the Top 25.
Virginia
Tech looks to challenge Miami for the Coastal Division
crown,
with Georgia Tech in the spoiler role. Florida State, Clemson and Boston College figure to fight it out
in the
Atlantic Division.
The
outcome
of these games will spell the difference between a successful season
and
discontent, for the faithful.
