Husker Braggin' Rights
Nebraska
has
achieved a position among the College football elite, claiming five
national
championships, 1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, and 1997. Nebraska
began football in 1890 as an independent, and joined the Missouri
Valley
Conference in 1907. Then they entered the Big Six Conference as a
charter
member in 1927, which then became the Big Seven, Big Eight, and the Big
Twelve
Conference, in 1995. The Cornhuskers claimed 43 conference titles
through 2004.

Dana X. Bible, Biff Jones, Bob Devaney, and the venerable Tom Osborne.
Nebraska
players have won one Butkus, one Maxwell, four Lombardis, eight
Outlands, three
