What is AutumnSpectacle.com?
by AutumnSpectacle.com staff
College football is a unique
entity. While the identity of many sports
is specific
to what happens on the field of play, college football is defined by
the game
between the lines as well as the sights and sounds of gameday.
AutumnSpectacle.com exists to
celebrate the college football
experience. Built and sustained for over
a century by the drama revealed each week during the regular season,
the Autumn
Spectacle is accentuated by the bands, fight songs, campuses,
traditions, the
autumn and much more.
Throughout the season in this
online
magazine, you’ll find weekly features that we hope will be informative
and fun. You’ll find:
Trip Captain –
A
firsthand look at what it’s like to attend a game at various college
football
venues written by a fan who has visited numerous campuses for gameday.
Traditions
& Pageantry – In this section, you’ll read about the things
that set
college football apart from any other sport in the world.
Revelations
& Implications – Each week, we’ll discuss the drama that
unfolded the
previous weekend and try to answer the question, “What does it all
mean?”
The
Week Ahead – Every Thursday, we’ll provide you with some analysis –
some
serious, some not-so-much – on seven games that are important to
the
individual teams, are critical for conference standings and are crucial
in the
chase for the Crystal Ball.
50-yard
line ticket – Each week, we’ll provide you with a printable TV
schedule
that you will have as you watch Saturday’s showdowns.
There are
numerous topics in the world that are heavy and sad and college
football should not be one of them. College
football was never designed to cure a deadly disease nor feed the
homeless. The sport’s glass
is 99% full and today’s media tends to focus on the remaining 1%. The enjoyment of gameday is being sucked away
by media members who focus on “controversies” and debates.
At AutumnSpectacle.com, it is our desire to
reintroduce fans to the passion that once drew them to the sport. It is supposed to be
fun.
After all, there are a limited
number
of autumn Saturdays in
a lifetime.
